Our innovative approach to finding solutions to health problems, has earned us the trust and respect of the people Washington state. But don't just take our word for it - ask any of the 40,000 individuals, 1,300 organizations, or 400 K-12 schools actively engaged in our innovative Healthiest State in the Nation Campaign. We developed the Healthiest State Campaign is 2004, and since that time - it has grown to become the largest civic engagement project for health in state history.
Our Healthiest State in the Nation Campaign recently launched an innovative program to help battle prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse on college campuses in Washington state. We believe this program will serve as a national model - laying the groundwork for other state to follow. In addition, we recently designed an innovative new college health website that focuses on the needs of young adults.
The latest innovation to come out of our Healthiest State Campaign, may be our boldest health solution yet. We are calling it - Health 3.0. A Health HoME puts people in charge of their own health by empowering their interactions with the health system. Welcome to the web page that will help you change your life.
After all, that is what innovation is all about.

Prescription & OTC Drug Abuse and Misuse |
Prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drug misuse and abuse is one of the more complex social health issues confronting young people. Unlike illicit drugs, and to some extent even alcohol and tobacco, prescription drug misuse carries with it a host of social myths. The first, and perhaps most significant, difference between Rx and OTC drugs and other addictive substances is that pharmaceuticals are specifically designed to benefit patients. They are endorsed by science, the government, and other independent organizations (namely the medical community) and are safe and therapeutic when taken correctly. Yet, when misused or abused they can be just as - if not more - addictive than illicit drugs.Prescription & OTC Drug Abuse from Healthiest State on Vimeo.
Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna in conjunction with the Washington Health Foundation, the Pharmaceutical Research Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), and other national organizations have partnered to provide you with this online health community, and a set of resources designed to help you confront this unique health concern.
